Best of the Best Racing Locations
Racing, though not the most popular sport, has an avid and passionate fanbase. Fans of car racing know all the best racetracks and drivers out there. It is quite impressive. But what about people who do not know much about racing and the locations for it? Below are some of the most iconic racing locations in the USA.
CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS
This racetrack is more than just a simple place for cars to go fast. It is used for the X Games, FIA World Endurance Championship, concerts, and other notable non-racing events. As for racing itself, it is 3.41 miles long and resides on 1,500 acres, allowing plenty of space. The United States Grand Prix takes place here, solidifying the Circuit of America’s place as an awesome racing location. You can even ride your bike here on Tuesday nights!
DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Florida is without doubt one of the best states in the USA. Tropical beaches, fun theme parks, great sports events, and of course the famous Daytona Speedway. Why does this one stand out from all the other racing locations in Florida? Well, for half a century it has served as the seat for championship-level races. It also has a lot of history behind it. Along with being used in Hollywood movies and allowing rentals, Daytona Speedway is an iconic and historic racing location.
LIME ROCK PARK
Set in the beautiful and quaint state of Connecticut, Lime Rock Park is an amazing racetrack. First off, it is the longest operating racetrack in America (since 1957). Even though it is a short 1.5-mile track, it is a difficult and challenging track for drivers. It also offers the Skip Barber Racing School, one of the best racing schools in the country. Lime Rock Park may appear forgettable, but in reality is a rich and challenging track that has made its mark on America, for good reason.
